If I had a time machine, I would go back in time and bring a few grand and just buy stuff.

Stick it in storage, make monies.

I know, inflation and all that, but the biggest shocker to me with old ads is how low dollar figures are. 275 pounds would barely buy you a decent RC car today, let alone a full size automobile!

You're going to need some from-that-period money to do that. 2013 cash in 1908 would raise more than a few eyebrows.

This is why I'm sure time travel technology will either never be real, or never not be heavily regulated. Otherwise, history would be full of anachronisms like that.
